Manager Ross Thorpe made 4 changes to the starting line up that were defeated 1-2 at home to Kirby Muxloe on Tuesday. With Jordan Cullinane-Liburd, Chris Hughes and Malachi Farquharson all unavailable, Kyle Morrison was moved to right back, club captain Scott Smith returned to the central defence after missing the last two games and new signing Brendan Kelly, returning to the Church, started at left back, replacing Anthony Fitzmaurice, who started on the bench. Max Crisp started in central midfield, whilst Connor Deards returned up front after missing Tuesdays defeat.
Wulfrunians started strongly and as early as the second minute from a deep corner Parsons did well to parry a shot from Sedgemore and Hill screwed wide with the goal at his mercy. Wulfrunians continued to pressurise the Alvechurch defence but Parsons was able to cut out the crosses into the box.
Alvechurch had their 1st chance in the 12 minute when a strong run and cross by Rabone was put over the bar by Evans.
Alvechurch were lucky to survive in the 25th minute when a poor pass from Clarke let in Webb ,a smart 1/2 between Webb & Palmer saw Palmer miss with a clear view at goal.
On the half hour Alvechurch took the lead. Another strong run by Rabone crossed for Evans to head into the path of Jermaine Clarke who neatly finished the move.
Wulfrunians immediately went on the attack and Parsons had to make a sharp save from Palmer.
Alvechurch started to look more dangerous coming forward, the returning Kelly broke down the left Rabone crossed low & hard into the Wulfrunians box & the ball was desparately cleared by Parker with Deards coming in from the far side of the box.
Jesse Race made a last gasp tackle on Gregg before being booked for a foul on Parker.
As half time approached Clarke headed on a free kick but Deards was unable to beat the keeper.
The last move of the half saw a Wulfrunians corner missed by Parsons and strong defending by Smith kept the score 1 0 at half time.
Howells was booked for a foul on Evans as the refferee blew for half time.

At the start of the second half Wulfrunians took off Palmer & replaced him with Thompson.
Alvechurch started the second half strongly, with Deards shot saved by the keeper, Wulfrunians came straight back with Sedgemore making a run through midfield before Race cut out the threat to concede a corner, from the resulting corner the ball broke for Gregg but he was unable to capitalise.
Alvechurch made it 2-0 after 55'. A glancing header from Gareth Evans beat the keeper after yet another great cross by Rabone.
Alvechurch then looked in control, Deards caused confusion in the Wulfrunians defence leading to a corner and Rabone beat 3 players before Tipton cut out any danger.
Wulfrunians were starting to dominate midfield and Parker shot wide & Thompson headed wide having lost his marker.
Wulfrunians made their second substitution with Robertson coming off @ King coming on.
In the 65' the game changed when Jake Sedgemore scored from the penalty spot after Smith conceded a foul in the box.
All the action was now in the Alvechurch half, Parsons made an excellent save to keep out Thompson but from the resulting corner Wulfrunians scored their equaliser in the 70'. A free header from Daniel Parker evaded the keeper & flew into the top corner of the net.
From the kick off Alvechurch could have re taken the lead,Deards broke down the left & Clarke headed just wide.
Constant pressure was being applied by Wulfrunians but resolute defending kept the home side at bay.
Thompson had a strong shot deflected for a corner & a run & cross by Howells was parried by Parsons & Race deflected the ball for another corner.
In the 79' Wulfrunians scored their deserved winner,after a poor pass from Roberts in midfield a quick break & through ball to Thompson who cooly slotted the ball past Parsons
In the last minutes Wulfrunians substituted Webb for Embury before the referee blew for full time.
A dissapointing result after looking comfortable at 2 0, but Wulfrunians kept the pressure on the Alvechurch defence and came out worthy winners & now look forward to a home tie against Boldmere St Michaels.
